10 Apple Presentation Secrets

Apple is a brand that does not need a special introduction. They achieved overwhelming success not only because of their high-quality products, but also with their presentations. After all, it is important not only to create something truly valuable, but also to be able to present it in such a way that everyone wants to have it. In this field, Apple simply has no equal.

Apple presentation principles:

1. Each slide should contain only one idea.
If you place several meaningful ideas on one slide, most likely, none of them will be remembered by the audience. For each idea, select a separate slide. The same goes for numerical information. If you place several numerical values on one slide, then they are badly perceived by the audience.

2. Make a visual statistics.
Any statistics, and they, as a rule, are expressed in numbers and percentages, it is better to present as visually and visually as possible. For example, “20 million” will look much more impressionable if you write “20 000 000”. And if each figure will be beautifully framed (for example, consist of the smallest copies of the company’s logo), then it will certainly be remembered by the audience.

3. Do not use “points”.
As practice shows, presentations made on the “point by point” principle are the least effective. And Apple never uses points in its presentations. Such slides contain too many unnecessary words, and the audience is faced with the difficult task of reading and listening at the same time, which not everyone can cope with. Accordingly, some of the important information remains lost.

4. Use multiple speakers.
There are many companies whose presentations are held by only one person. Apple, and in particular, Tim Cook, who held a lot of presentations, has a different opinion: if, in the course of the report, to invite different specialists of the company to the microphone, the whole event becomes livelier and more interesting.

5. Each speaker should speak no more than 10 minutes in a row.
Don Medina from the University of Washington created the “10 minutes rule,” which states that one speaker will not be able to keep the attention of listeners after the 10th minute of his speech. Even if his story is very interesting and fascinating, he will get tired of listening to him anyway and will no longer be able to perceive the submitted information effectively. If the speech of one speaker implies a report on the duration of more than 10 minutes, then after this time, take a short break in the presentation. If there are several speakers, their speeches should be structured in such a way that each of them speak no more than 10 minutes in a row.

6. Add emotionality.
People love shocking. At least he always attracts attention. When Apple’s vice-president presented another product at the presentation, in response to a tough comment from one of the listeners that the company was losing its innovation, he exclaimed: “But where is more innovative, damn it!”. Such an emotional urge was perceived by the audience much more efficiently than if he had started to give standard arguments in favor of innovative qualities of the product.

7. Use Twitter messages.
As you know, Twitter messages are no more than 140 characters long. Learn how to describe the product as if you are writing about it on Twitter, that is, fit it all in 140 characters, and no more. This technique is one of the most effective – clearly, simply and concisely. It will always be remembered and quoted. Quoting a few long sentences is quite difficult, and a few words about your product that best reflect its concept are exactly what you need.

8. Give your presentation a lot of time.
In order to create the perfect half-hour presentation, it may take about 200 hours of hard work. It is necessary to develop a general plot of the presentation, the text of speeches, the design of slides. Test the presentation on how it will be perceived by the audience and practice in the speech report. All this is necessary for the end result to exceed all your expectations.

9. Do not forget about those who worked on the creation of the product.
At the end of the presentation, it will be useful to thank all the team members who have contributed to the creation of the product being presented. Express sincere recognition and respect to all who worked on this project. Such an attitude will always be in the price, and this will allow viewers and listeners to feel the idea of the presentation even more.

10. Let everyone see your presentation.
Apple regularly posts videos from its presentations and conferences on its official website. Now the creation of high-quality videos about new products is strongly associated with this brand. It is necessary to make it possible to view the presentations for everyone interested in this person, and not only for those who have had such luck to attend the presentation in person.
